Disney Channel is a German cable television network owned by The Walt Disney Company Germany, Switzerland & Austria (subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company).

Disney Channel was launched on October 16, 1999.[1] by Buena Vista (Germany).

In April 2013, it was announced that Disney Channel will start a free-tv version of the channel that will replace Das Vierte, another television channel owned by The Walt Disney Company in Germany, on January 17th 2014. The pay-tv channel will shutdown in the end of 2013.[2][3]
