History

Route 275 commenced operating on 27 April 1960 between Woodford Bridge and Enfield Town via Palmers Green, Wood Green, Turnpike Lane, Tottenham Hale and Walthamstow as a trolleybus replacement route with AEC Routemasters.

On 7 September 1968, it was converted to single deck, one man operation with AEC Merlins and withdrawn between Enfield Town and Walthamstow and diverted to Walthamstow Central station, being replaced by route 123.

On 19 June 1971, it was extended from Woodford Bridge to Claybury Hospital. From 3 August 1975, it was converted back to double deck operation with Daimler Fleetlines. On 19 March 1977 it was extended to Barkingside.

Upon being put up for tender, route 275 passed to Eastern National Citybus. When re-tendered it passed to Thamesway on 29 July 1990. On 7 March 1992, it passed to Grey-Green's Barking garage. Following Grey Green's parent, the Cowie Group, restructuring its London bus operations, Grey-Green became part of Arriva London.

Upon being re-tendered, Arriva London retained the route with a new contract commencing on 5 March 2005, with low floor buses introduced.[1]

When next re-tendered, on 3 March 2012 the route passed to Stagecoach London's Leyton garage.[2][3][4]
