Gülcemal Sultan

Gül-Cemâl Sultan (Ottoman Turkish: گل‌جمال سلطان) (or Gül-Cemâl Kadınefendi) (née Sofia) (ca. 1826 – 16 November 1851 or 29 December 1895) was an Albanian wife of Ottoman Sultan Abdülmecid I and the mother of Sultan Mehmed V of the Ottoman Empire.

She died (16 November 1851 or 29 December 1895) in Ortaköy, Constantinople/Istanbul[1] However, she was never Valide Sultan to her son, because she died before Mehmed Reşad's accession to the Ottoman throne.[2]
